Measles – mumps – rubella (MMR) 2nd dose vaccine free for eligible patients

The Victorian Government has funded a measles-containing vaccine program that is available for all adults born during or since 1966 and aged from 20 years without evidence of two documented  doses of valid MMR vaccine or without serological evidence of immunity.

In 2019 there have now been 36 cases of confirmed measles notified in Victoria. Almost all cases are in people who are not fully immunised against measles, who have either travelled overseas or been in contact with travellers from overseas in Victoria. Many cases are people born since 1966 who believed they were fully immunised but who had not had two doses of MMR vaccine.

2019 – Flu vaccine now available for all patients over 6 months old

Flu vaccine available now – call to make an appointment.

The consult will be bulk billed if you are only seen for the flu vaccine.

If you are not eligible for a free government funded vaccine there will be charge of $10.

People eligible for a free influenza vaccine:

· All children aged six months to less than five years – Victorian government funded
· All Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged from six months
· All adults aged ≥65 years
· All people aged ≥six months who have certain medical conditions which increase the risk of influenza disease complications; for example, severe asthma, lung or heart disease, low immunity or diabetes
· Pregnant women (during any stage of pregnancy).
